Staying at Home

Staying at Home

I am on day 14th of staying at home, following the emergency orders from the city and county. I basically moved my entire day job office into my condo. In order to work remotely seamlessly. One of the things of being home for so long is learn how to separate the 9-5 job and my off-time, and be on the same space. I love my apartment, and as you can see it is a true reflection of the person that I am, it is modern and streamlined, with girly touches. Which makes it a place where I like to spend time, although in a regular time I am usually not in here that much.

I have been adapting to a new routine, and finding things to do. To make the time go a little bit faster. Here is what I have been up to while staying-in at home.

What I am wearing for Staying at home

c/o Joggers from local miami brand Bululu | Free People Longline Sage Bralette (available here) | Long black Cardi (it’s so old it lost its tag) but here is a similar one

Exercising

I established to keep exercising as much as possible (for me typically is 4-5 days a week) for one hour. I am the crazy neighbor that workouts on my balcony. You see me running in place and doing burpees. And  have been doing mostly the 54D workout with Rodrigo Garduno, (which is the coach for the program I did last year to loose all the weight and get healthy). He streams live on his IG @ro54d. at 11am Monday to Saturday. I do mine at the end of the day because you can replay it before it goes away. Also as an alternative one or two days a week, I go for a run outside. I have a large golf course near by, so I can do one loop of 4.25 miles, this is a good option as there are not so many people and can practice social distancing easily.

Cooking

I have been planning and cooking all my meals. Getting yummy recipes online and tweaking them to be healthy. I also like to invent new dishes (if you can tell from my IG), I have highlights showing some of the yummy-ness.

Reading

I started to read books again. With being so busy from my day job and fashion illustrating events and custom orders, that in the last few years I haven’t had to much time to catch up on my reading.  So this is the perfect time to do that. I am currently reading 10% Happier from Dan Harris. And from this book that I am reading I have also picked up practicing Mindfulness meditations. I usually use a guided meditation from apps like Calm, right before going to bed.

Beauty

I have been doing my own manicure and blowdrying or styling my hair. Just because we are home doesn’t mean we have to look bad.

Chilling

Also, binge watching on Netflix has been limited to weekends. Because you know let’s make time for the other items above.

Let me know on the comments below, some ideas on how you are passing the time during this pandemic?
