On the first day of Art Basel: Gucci presents Smell the Magic

It’s that time again where Art Basel hits Miami and with it all the private and invite only parties. On the first day I attended a private preview and pop-up exhibit of artist Kris Knight’ Smell the Magic, presented by Gucci and Spinello Projects. In a cozy gallery at Miami’s Design District the large mystical and ambiguous portraits paintings that inspired Frida Giannini, Creative director of Gucci for the Fall-Winter  2014 collection, laid on the walls.

I  had an exquisite time looking at the pastel tones artwork, and I  particularly liked the play with patterns and the uniqueness of each character.

I didn’t get a chance to talk the artist or meet Frida but I guess I’ll save that for next time.
