October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and as a part of my collaboration with local Miami brand Mia Shoes, I have created a second illustration to support this cause. My newest illustration shows the MIA Amanda shoes showcased in a glass dome to show the special balance between strength and courage that the brave women (and men) that fight against this disease have.

The MIA Cares program during this entire month, will donate 10% of all the proceeds of the sales of the Amanda shoes will to cancer research for the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University Of Miami Miller School Of Medicine, to fund a clinical trial for new therapies in TNBC (Triple Negative Breast Cancer). The estimated donation for this charity will be a minimum of $5,000 dollars.

If you follow my Instagram (@GissiJ) you might have noticed that I have been wearing these flats plenty and have been using them to change from my heels at work and have even styled it with bow clips or matched the colors with the floor tiles of my office building.

Mia Shoes designed a special edition of the shoes in black with a thin pink ribbon on the back, which looks very classy (as featured in the illustrations). These shoes also come in a variety of neutral tones either with a suede finish or snakeskin finish, that are great to match with any outfit. (See below for colors).

In addition to the donated percentage of all the Amanda shoe sales, MIA Cares has also given 400 pairs of the specially designed black and pink Amanda ($20,000 retail value) to be sold on QVC’s October 16th FFAny Shoes on Sale and at QVC.com the entire month of October where (80%) eighty percent of the proceeds of the shoes sold during breast cancer awareness month will benefit the Fashion Footwear Charitable Foundation (FFCF).
