Long live the One Piece swimsuit! This past week in Miami, was SWIM WEEK, and if you where following me on social, you got to see a sneak peek of the shows and all the madness. One of the major trends that I saw going on strong was the one piece bathing suit. For all of us that don’t have the perfect model aka the Victoria’s Secret Angel body, we where happy with joy. As they can be so forgiving.
In shows like ACACIA (which by the way is one of my favorite ones). We got to see plenty of nude colors, with perforated fabrics and side ties. I am calling these skin tone and earthy colors the must have swimwear to have today!
Another trend that kept popping up, and still going strong from last season, is the palm leaf prints. With a little more updated with mix of colors and and flowers. Deviating a bit of the famous Beverly Hills Martinique wallpaper print, that was everywhere last year. The one I drew on the illustration above is one of the ones I saw on the runway for Seafolly. (Remember my Palm leaf watercolor print – here).
Also a super girly trend for one piece swimsuits, is the ruffles look. You can find it in one shoulder, off-the shoulder or crossing over. Mostly seen in solid colors like black or pink. The pink bone on the illustration above is from Pretty Little Thing.
The good thing about these one piece trends, is that you can use and wear them not only for the pool or beach, but also as a bodysuit. Either for a night out with a mini skirt and heels or just during the day with cut-off denim shorts. To withstand the humidity and super hot summer days, that Miami is giving us right now.
Check out below a few of my favorites, and stay tuned on the upcoming weeks for some outfit posts wearing One-Piece Swimwear.
