To plan the outfits I will be wearing for specials events ie. fashion week, weekend getaways, etc. starts with a sketch, I take pieces I own or that I want or that I could make and just draw them. I don’t come from a fashion design background per se, but I have been drawing since I was five and took formal fine art classes and some sewing and pattern cutting classes in my teens so I understand the anatomy and the drape of fabrics. With time my sketches have evolved from a doodle to a more refined drawing , that is the process of growing into an artist. (On a good day, I consider myself one).
For these fashion drawings I use a template sketchbook made by Fashionary, which is the most handy tool for anyone that likes drawing runway looking models, as it is specifically for that. I use the standard size as it fits perfectly in my purse along side my kindle fire and my camera.
From this sketch: I used the same purse for all outfits as it is was my rotating bag that week… If you haven’t guessed its a Jason Wu for Target straw bag, then now you know.
From Left to right:

I am so in love with your blog’s layout…it’s not even funny!
And I LOVE that you are sketching your outfits…extremely original.
