Currently Coveting: Cat Eyes

Tom Ford Nikita Sunglasses (Barney’s)

I keep saying I was born in the wrong era. I love the 1950’s style. When I saw these chic Tom Ford Nikita cat eye sunglasses my heart stopped and I felt like dressing up like Peggy Olson from Mad Men to wear those sunnies. But this is 2012 and thank god we are not in the 50’s, my independent self would not adjust to it, but that is another story. Regardless, in today’s eclectic world I can wear my favorite retro fashion accessories and mix it with more modern pieces to follow this resurrected trend.

Tortoise Weekend Shades (Nasty Gal)
Dancer Cateye Sunglasses (Urban Outfitters)
Xhilaration Cat Eye (Target)

Cat sunglasses are a trend but, as much as I would like them to, they may not stick around forever. After giving it more thought, I did not want to dish out $360.00 on impulse. I started looking for the perfect (more affordable) cat eye shades. I found myself an array of options with smaller, larger or thicker frames and fun colors.

Still loving the more classic look, I ended up getting these Xhilaration Cat Eye black sunnies from Target for $12.99. At that price, I can look good and still search for more retro accessories to add to my wardrobe.
