A few weeks back the people from Cezanne contacted me to see if I was interested in trying out their product. Cezanne is a Keratin Smoothing treatment that is 100% formaldehyde free. This means no pesky ingredients and no strong smell, in fact the treatment is so gentle that the stylist could apply it without wearing gloves (from what I was told at the salon). Also another great thing is that the hair can be blow dried or curled right after so you can leave the salon ready.
I have never done a Keratin or any type of straightening treatment to my hair before so I can’t compare experiences, but I can tell you how my experience with Cezanne was. I arrived to Danny Jelaca Salon in South Beach where I was quickly taken care of by Meredith, their hair texture specialist stylist, she was great she explain the process and the product very well, so I felt sure in her hands.
First my hair was washed with a Clarifying Shampoo and quickly blow dried. Then my hair was section and applied the Keratin Smoothing treatment, after all the hair was covered it was quickly rinsed and blow dried again. At this point Meredith section the hair again and asked me how straight I wanted my hair. I told her that I usually blow dry and flat iron but I like having a little volume. She went ahead and with a flat ironed each section, while counting, what I am assuming was how many passes she was doing. After this I waited for 30 minutes, and the process was rinsed and I was ready for final styling.
As an added point I wanted to redo my ombré highlights so Natalie, the colorist for Danny Jelaca, came along and dyed my hair before final styling. And yes you heard right I colored my hair right after this treatment and left home looking all pretty.
The end result my hair look more shiny and felt silkier. And the process has also cut down my home styling time by a lot, I can blow dry my hair in 20-30 minutes. Where before it took 45 minutes to get ready.
For those interested this process at the Danny Jelaca salon goes for $350+ which is all depending the length of your hair.
I wasn’t compensated for this post but the treatment was comped by Cezanne hair.
