This week Neiman Marcus gave us a taste of the latest trends for this coming Fall. I took my trusty Canon camera and my lovely sister Cindy, and head out to Coral Gables. This is a season with and array of looks, mostly everything goes.
Borrowing from the boys:
One of the biggest trends this season, which I love, is the girls borrowing from the boys, inspired by menswear, layering different tweed fabrics and plaid. Boxy shapes somewhat androgynous, styled with accessories that gave us the delicacy of a lady, she is the lady that runs the world.
Mixed greens:
Redefining the idea that wearing one color is faux pas. The combo of mixed greens in different hues in one outfit made the crow wowed. A muted green leather jacket & pants by Balenciaga paired with a flowy lime green shirt and deep green Givenchy bag makes the traditional ideas not apply.
Digital graphic prints:
I’m not so crazy about the head to toe graphic prints from Prada. I do like hints of graphic prints here and there. The Stella McCartney simple graphic blue and orange dress I would go for.
Ornamented / Baroque:
Going back in time to the luxe Christian Lacroix or YSL’s of the 90’s. Has me thinking of raiding my titi’s (auntie) and mother’s closet to find some ornamented blazers, oversized jewelry necklaces and big cocktail rings to pile up together.
Minimalistic Color Blocking:
This a season of extremes from fully ornamented looks to a minimalistic simplicity. Clean and plainness from bags and sheath dresses in subdued tones are perfect to keep the color blocking trend for long.
Although not every trend was showcased, these are probably the most wearable ones. So many pretty things. I need to go out and shop and check a certain someone’s closet.
