Summer Review: NYX Makeup Setting Sprays

In my adventures of finding the perfect makeup products that would last in this hot and humid Miami weather,  the people from NYX cosmetics sent me their Makeup Setting sprays as one of their must have picks for summer makeup.

I received a bottle of the Matte finish and one of the Dewy Finish. Right out of the package the first thing I saw is that they are a cruelty free product (not tested on cute little bunnies), which it is important to some of us.

In essence the setting sprays extend the life of your makeup while applied.  I decided to try out the Dewy finish as I personally like more a natural finish instead of matte. I guess if you have very oily skin it would work better with matte.  I have a combination skin that is more on the dry side.

I tried it out for a week, after my daily makeup routine I sprayed it 8-9 inches away from my face.  The spray itself is very lightweight and it doesn’t add on your makeup, the spray bottle shoots out a mist that may be too much for some but I just sprayed a little further away, and it dried out quickly.

I say that my face loves to eat makeup, as I usually need to re-apply makeup around 3-4pm. But using this setting spray there was still powder and blush left around the 6pm mark. Also I fill in my eyebrows and those where untouched, they looked like had just put make up on them. As for the lipstick that didn’t really last, but also that has to do with me eating and having tea thru out the day.
