Once again is time day one of Funkshion‘s Fashion Week in Miami Beach showcasing collections for Spring/Summer 2013. For the first event at the tents last night there was an exhibit retrospective of the last 30 years of the fashion work of designer Nicole Miller.
I got to meet and greet the designer and introduce myself as a local Miami blogger. I told her that I owned a bunch of her dresses from the 90’s and that I had used them to go to a lot of Quinces (the Latin sweet sixteens). To which she said that lately there has been a resurge of people wanting her 90’s fashion to what I truly wished I would’ve kept some of them. I also mentioned that I am originally from Santo Domingo and asked her how was her experience last year with her show that she did for Dominican Republic’s Fashion Week, and she replied that it was great. Then my few minutes where up.
Prior to receiving FGI’s Lifetime Achievement Award and the keys to the City of Miami Beach. Margaret Hayes from Fashion Group International introduced Nicole Miller in her speech as an american designer that knows how to make clothes the french way. An indeed you can tell.
Nice, I hope you had enjoyed this interview,
Very cool my friend! 🙂
