Cancer Awareness with Mia Shoes

Cancer Awareness
Mia Shoes for Cancer Awareness

October is quickly coming up and with it Breast Cancer Awareness month. I am collaborating with local Miami brand Mia Shoes to support the fight against breast cancer and to tell you about the MIA Cares program featuring the Amanda shoes.

During the months of September and October, 10% of all the proceeds of the sale of the Amanda shoes will be donated to cancer research at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University Of Miami Miller School Of Medicine, to fund a clinical trial for new therapies in TNBC (Triple Negative Breast Cancer).  The estimated donation for this charity will be a minimum of $5,000 dollars.

This minimalistic flat has a clean design and is very comfy, as it has a cushioned heel. It’s a perfect everyday shoe to wear when running around doing errands or to carry on your bag to switch from your heels.   Mia Shoes has specially design an edition of the shoes in black with a thin pink ribbon on the back for this program. The shoes also comes in several neutral tones with a suede finish and snakeskin finish, which I’m liking a lot as you can match them with almost everything. (See below for colors).

When Mia Shoes approached me to kindly help them promote the MIA Cares program and sent me a pair of the special edition I couldn’t resist photographing them and drawing an illustration for them. My Mia Shoes girl is wrapped in a pink ribbon and is giving hope to the brave women (and men) that are affected by this disease.

In addition to a percentage of all the Amanda shoe sales, MIA Cares has also donated 400 pairs of the specially designed black and pink Amanda ($20,000 retail value) to be sold on QVC’s October 16th FFAny Shoes on Sale and at QVC.com the entire month of October. Eighty percent of the proceeds of the shoes sold during breast cancer awareness month will benefit the Fashion Footwear Charitable Foundation (FFCF).

So go ahead, pick your favorite pair (or all) and see how you can help this research by visiting http://www.miashoes.com/
