I am trying to recap on the blog some of the events and brand work, I have been doing lately. A few weeks back, I got the opportunity to be Live Drawing at Kendra Scott newest store at Brickell City Center. Typically I do a lot of events, where I am fashion illustrating and sketching, but you only see a little bit of it, if you follow me on my instagram (@GissiJ), but I never take enough pictures to post (because I get so concentrated drawing), so I am starting to change that and share a little more.
International Women’s Day, is today March 8th, and for that I wanted to share with you an illustration inspired on all the strong and powerful women out there. Because “We should all be Feminist”, like the Dior t-shirt says, and support one another, cheer one another. And like that other Nike t-shirt says, “The Force is Female”, because we are brave, we are powerful women who are Bosses, and we make our own decisions, we create a life for ourselves and our future children.
I love watching awards ceremonies like last nights Oscars 2017 celebration, mostly to see the pre-show of the red carpet, and see all the fashion, and of course illustrating it and sharing it .
DÔA Miami Beach, is the latest restaurant to open in Miami Beach from renowened restaurateur Arjun Waney. This is the guy behind Zuma and Coya (Two of my fave Miami restaurants). DÔA (pronounced dow-ah), serves a Latino/Asian (think Japanese meets peruvian) cuisine. It is a more casual and affordable version of his other restaurants and the food quality is up to par.
I had the chance to go do a media preview dinner of their menu. And try out South Florida native Chef Carlos Estarita’s food. He absolutely outdid himself and brought some of the flavors and ideas of his previous kitchen experience at Coya and Zuma, where he was a member of the opening team.
I am finishing up the holidays and celebrating with Macy’s Three Kings Day, on January 6th, for an afternoon of shopping and fun for the whole family. I will be live drawing at Macy’s Westland Mall in Miami. Where I will be creating personalized and unique illustrations with the Three Kings. Also enjoy live music, arts and crafts, and more.

Olay offers an array of products to hydrate, exfoliate & renew the skin, from Anti-aging to Age repair. For this post, I am helping Olay spread the word on being Ageless, and invite you to join the Olay #Ageless Twitter party tomorrow November 4th at 2pm ET. To join just go on Twitter, and follow the #Ageless hashtag and participate to win OLAY products. Seven winners will receive an Olay eye product and One grand prize winner will receive the full Olay eye collection set. See you there!
So, after such a long time of coveting to attend New York Fashion Week, I finally will! My blogger besties Annie Vazquez aka The Fashion Poet and Netty Del from The Fashionable ESQ, encouraged me to attend this season. So follow along my social, as I take on the Spring 2017 runways, backstages, all the experience and lifestyle of attending a few shows and presentations. NYFW runs from September 8th thru the 15th.
As a fashion girl, one of the biggest dreams to achieve, is to get a call to work with the biggest fashion house ever! which is CHANEL, and I was fortunate enough to get the opportunity to work with them, thanks to a collaboration with Saks Fifth Avenue at Bal Harbour Shops and Chanel Beauty, I got to to live draw at the store. This time around, I used a different drawing canvas and switched sketching paper for the iconic Chanel perfume glass bottles, and my watercolors and markers for acrylic opaque and metallic paint.
